We had a busy weekend last week with consecutive outdoor tastings in Seattle and Issaquah. Madrona was poured in the VIP tent at the Pike Place Market Foundation’s annual Sunset Supper. Beautiful weather, views of Elliott Bay & the Seattle Waterfront, live music and great people! Shout out to the folks at the Four Seasons booth who brought us delicious ice cream sandwiches since we were too busy to leave our bar!
Saturday night we moved the bar to the outdoor boardwalk at Gilman Village in Issaquah for their Summerfest beverage festival. Thank you to the very patient folks who waited up to 30 deep in line for Madrona cocktails! We poured well over 200 cocktails and featured our fresh-squeezed Gimlet, Vesper, Classic Martini, and West Side Cocktail (lemon cordial, fresh mint, Madrona Wheat Vodka & club soda). A hot muggy night turned quickly to a torrential downpour at 8:15 but the die-hards would not quit! We finally had to fold the tent when all out garnishes were floating and the glasses were filling with water faster than we could add gin!
